Just about all polish brands are 3 free (toluene, formaldehyde and DPB). These 2 brands however are not only 3 free but are water based which means the products are made with water base items. I have tried several water based polishes and they have some great colors, the only problem I found was that they never lasted more than 2 days before chipping or coming completely off. SPARITUAL is a very good brand and if I had to choose a water base polish to use I would choose them. "Scotch Naturals" was sent to me by a friend (thanks Calicutie) to check out. I have not tried this brand but it wouldn't hurt to see what it does. If you are allergic to polish then water base could be the way to go. Just make sure you have your own personal stash to touch up or re apply because you will need to .

Real 22k Gold Glitter Polish!
I get all kinds of things in my email. I didn't realize that this one was about real gold and silver glitter polish? Who would have thought of putting actual gold flakes into polish? I would think that it was costly but at $10 a bottle I guess I was wrong. Real Gold Inc, www.realgoldinc.com has these glitter polishes for sale. I want to try them to see if they sparkle more than the normal glitter polish. Will keep you posted on my findings.

It's "Intimate" and it's here! Zoya has done it again!!!
It is everything I anticipated it to be and everything I want and need it to be for the Spring! Two thumbs up Zoya!Let's take a look at the intimacy Zoya is giving up for Spring 2011... Here is "Caitlin" the perfect lavendar, blue, grey. And to think it couldn't get any better than "Kelly"well here is her sister and she is amazing too.
Meet "Marley" a touch of frost to remind you of winter but the soft pink to tell you it's Spring.
It's "Gemma", olive green with a hue of purple that shows with the flicker of it's irresidence of the color. I think this is going to be the one to watch all over! :)
"Dove" the softest yet prettiest puddy grey you could think of. Just right for all nails short or long.
"Danni" the sparkle of the bunch, are your toes ready for this sparkle show down. It is so royal and the name is perfect for a new baby if you need any ideas . :)
"Jules" is simply gorgeous that's all I can say. A mix of gold shimmer with a touch of tan, you can not go wrong.
There it is, what we all been waiting for. Give them a round of applause because they deserve it. If you want your own intimate collection check out www.zoya.com so you won't be left out. ;) Gotta Love it!!

Its all about the Metals for your Nails
Zoya "Trixie"
What do you wear on your nails when your in between collections and seasons. Metal polishes are the thing to do. Lately we have been seeing these metal looks pop up everywhere. They are hard to polish and for some hard to wear. You have to pick the right metal for you and your lifestyle. Some of them can be very shiny and very silver. If that is the case try for one with a darker metal look like Chanel Black Pearl or Nars Full metal jacket pictured below
Give it a try. It is different but different is sometimes good. :)

Your feet, and Your Ugg boots.
We all have them and we love them, but your Ugg boots could be bad for you feet. As a manicurist I try to keep up with what is good for your hands and feet and what may not be. Well, it was brought to my attention that the Ugg boots we wear for warmth and comfort may be a little harmful. They can irritate your heels, arch and make your feet smell.
Uggs were not made for arch support but for comfort and warmth and they live up to both of those claims, however, we should not live in our Ugg boots. :( (bummer) When wearing them you should always wear socks to prevent them from smelling and put arch support inside to hold up your arch as well as heel support. Most of all, do not wear them all of the time. Give your feet a break. I know it's hard because they are sooooo comfortable and with the New York cold weather they are your feet best friend... so I understand. But we want to protect your feet as long as possible since you do have to walk on them.
**they are the best in the cold months when getting a pedicure. You can actually put your Ugg boots on after your pedicure and not distrub the polish. So when you go for your pedicure in the winter months ( which you should still do)( *side eye if you don't*) you should wear your Uggs so you can leave the salon in warmth and not cold toes. :) There are a lot of you out there that neglect your feet in the winter because you say no one can see them. Not true, you see them!!! You don't see you bikini line in the winter so would you not groom that? Come on ladies, be a women all year round, not just 7 months out of the year. Sorry I had to put that out there. I will speak more about this in a later post, but until then get your feet done and wear your Uggs with caution and care.

A Nail Salon Reality Show!!! ..Welcome to the world of manicurist on reality t.v.
Well lookey here lookey here...I knew it wouldn't be long before the drama of reality t.v. would turn to the nail industry. TV Guide has picked up a show called the "The Nail Files" created by the same creators of "The Jersey Shore" so we all know what to expect with this one. The Painted Nail in Hollywood California, owned and operated by Katie Cazorla who is married to a Grammy Award winning, songwriter and producer will be the salon of choice. I hear she is a "tell it like it is" person who doesn't care if your a celebrity or not. If your nails are jacked up she is going to tell you. This should be interesting. I can't wait to see how they pull this one off and if it gets multiple seasons and makes millions of dollars. I mean isn't that why people sign up to do it in the first place? :)Not mad at that at all, Ill be watching, its my field and I'm happy to see the nail world finally getting notice. :) I would love to produce a show like this. (*thinking cloud*)

American Apparel "Manila" ...ready for Spring!
Spring can not come fast enough. I had spring fever and pulled out American Apparel's Manila nail polish. Its that mix of a yellow with a hint of gold that makes it look like mustard. I didn't think it was going to be that flattering but its actually a pretty nice color.
Some of you know that I love shoes and sometimes relate nail polish to shoes. I'm not a sneaker person but if you have to wear a pair of sneakers then these are the ones you should be wearing. They match this polish perfectly. Why not have your manicure go along with your sneaker-cure. LOL
You would be the talk of the town, nails matching your sneakers. Gorgeous! CaliCutie and Tkatina I'm sure could appreciate this polish and these sneakers. :) I know I do!

Ted Gibson is Perfection is Possible
Beauty products fall under a few categories and hair products are part of that. I normally talk about polish, scrubs, lotions and some make up but today I was inspired to post about hair products. I had the pleasure to work with world renowned, celebrity hair stylist Ted Gibson on a photo shoot. I walked in and said to myself, "hey that's Ted Gibson from Oprah, QVC, and the morning show". We introduced ourselves and began to work. What a pleasure it really was. I always look to see what products hair stylist and make up artist use, just to get ideas of what I may want to try and play around with. I knew Mr. Gibson had his own line of products so of course that would be his product of choice. I went on line to check them out and this is what I found that was very interesting...a conditioner that deposits temporary hair color to bring out your tones (whatever color tone of hair you may have) when you condition your hair. This is amazing!! It comes in 3 different tone conditioners. I like to find products that I never heard of and share them. This seems to be a good one.
Check this is out at www.tedgibsonsalon.com
This seems to be a wonderful product to try, fitting to which seems to be a wonderful person. :) Good to meet you Mr. Gibson :)

Essie- Something old and blue and something green and new
...And she is back, my favorite 9 year old, "CutieKatieNYC" missed me and I missed her. :) She has a busy schedule so catching up with this inspiring designer is sometimes pretty difficult. But she never disappoints me with her polish selection. She decided on Essie's "Incognito for her nails and Midnight Cami for her feet". She took the old but new approach, which is nice to see, an older color surface at times. She has a method on how she selects polish. She tries them all on her 10 fingers and narrows them down with my assistance and gets a thumbs up or down from her brother. LOL...too cute.
She will keep this manicure and pedicure for weeks. I don't know how she does it because she is a 9 year old but she could tips to those who don't. But then again, I do know, she has a great manicurist that always helps. ;)

Why you need a manicurist. :)
A very good friend of mine who shall remain nameless LOL! was scared to death to show me her nails but I don't think people realize that one of the first things I see are your nails without you knowing that I saw them.(it's just the manicurist in me) SO, I said to her, let me see you nails because it looked like the cracked nail polish by Katy Perry and O.P.I. I was sadly mistaken. I couldn't believe what my eyes had seen. (hahahaha) I was embarrassed for her. Look at what I saw:
WOWWWWW!! she began to explain. What this is, is gel that chipped or cracked and she tried to fix it by polishing over it and giving it some texture. She said the gel takes time to take off so she could not wait to remove and opted for trying to fix it by polishing over it. (*buzzer sound*) LOL!
I guess gel can chip just like polish but at least if polish chips, you can remove it quickly and opt for clear polish if your polishing skills aren't up to par. Hint Hint. ;) I still love you my friend!
But in gel's defensive, although I am not a fan, it can look pretty darn good.
This is what my other dear friend had on her nails. Not bad. This is gel that she had on for a few days. Looks like polish but doesn't remove like one. At the end of the day I tried to convince them both to go all natural and I think it worked. :) Good luck ladies. Wish I was there to help you out with your nail diaries :) Love you guys. Muah!

Zoya has a starring role in "Black Swan"
Enter the recent theatrical release of Black Swan. Early on in the film as the lead dancer, Nina (portrayed by Natalie Portman), prepares in her dressing room for a gala where she will be revealed to the masses as the new Swan Queen, a solitary elegant bottle of nail polish briefly takes over the screen. This is where the line between a little girls fantasy and reality blissfully blurs. The bottle shown is Zoya Nail Polish in a delicate shade of pink named Bela.
I recently saw Black Swan and what a nice surprise to see a bottle of polish that look like it could be Zoya. i received confirmation that in deed it was Zoya. :) A toast to Zoya's Bela for making an appearance in a great movie that I am sure to win a few awards. *clapping hands*

Nails Inc. "Belgrave Place"
I told you this was under my tree from me to me. (hehe) This picture doesn't do this color justice. Its actually more purple than blue but it is gorgeous. Of course "Choc" is going to be distracted as usual, so just give her a honk if you see her stopped at the light glazing at her nails. LOL. Simply beautiful if I do say so myself. :) ( I love love this iced out bottle ) ;)

Happy 2011!!!!
I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year celebration. I went on the Internet today to search for some of the best New Year Eve nails. I didn't find much to my surprise, but that may because people are still sleeping from their night of partying and haven't posted any great nails yet.(LOL) So I went to some of my fellow blogger sites to see what they came up with. They are sooooooooo many nail blogs but I choose to follow only a few because after a while they all do the same thing, talk about the same things and show the same pictures of nail polish. Most of which who are lovers of nail polish and nail art. Some of them give great ideas and nail inspirations and some of them I learn a few things from. So I like to follow a few of them that draw interest to me. :)
With that said, one of my favorite blogger to follow is mysimplelittlepleasures.blogspot.com She has great nail ideas and does a pretty good job at doing her own nails. She posted a very pretty firework/new years eve nail look on her blog.
Colorful and pretty yet somewhat simple. Gotta Love it! Great job mysimplelittlepleasures :)
Going into this new year I am going to really try to do more nail art. It isn't required of me as much as some of the other blogger post, because the nails I do are for a totally different reason. I am, an actual nail technician that is always working on nails all the time, but Ill try to give you more of my creative insight as well. I will still provide you with informative information coming from the world of nails as well as the latest in nail colors. Ill share some of my professional work and give you some things to even think about. I hope for this to be a good year with a few surprises. I appreciate all of the support in such a short time frame of 8 months. :) Its been fun, challenging and informative and hope it has been the same for you. So stay tune for another great year of Perfection is Possible...Nails, Beauty and Anything Under the Sun ;)
